Yesterday, we had planned on cooking dinner for Erika since she is leaving for Spain for the summer soon. By we I mean Fernando. So we had been at the pool all day with several other friends and dinner for three turned into dinner for five with Robby and Tracy. We've been excited to use all our new stuff, including a pasta maker, so Fernando went all out on the food and I went all out on the hosting and setting of the table. It was so much fun!
The menu:
Appetizer - Le Roule herb cheese with a baguette, red and white wines to drink
Main - Linguine made from scratch with clam sauce - this was a Mario Batali recipe! Along with spring mix salad with caramelized walnuts, goat cheese and purple onion.
Dessert - Everyone was too full but Fernando and I split a red velvet cupcake that we picked up from Society Bakery while dropping off a thank you and photos. We then watched an episode of Heroes and ate Haribo gummy bears after they left and I cleaned the kitchen - there was flour everywhere!
Fernando and I are the perfect hosting duo - he cooks, I clean. Today everything is back to spotless. We had a great time with our little family!
